Gavin's Raceway Birthday Party

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BUDDY!
Gavin turned 2 today! It was a fun weekend with family and friends. The above picture is him taste testing the cake batter. Hmmmm .... chocolate fudge with chocolate chips. Here is the cake I made for his CAR theme party. I love making the kid's cakes for their birthdays. Even if it means staying up until 2 a.m. to finish.
Lunch was fun to put together. Each item had a car theme -- Mack Snacks, Chick Hicks' Pretzel Sticks, Fillmore's Fruit Platter, Flo's V8 oil (juice boxes), and Luigi's tire bites (sandwiches). I don't have a picture of it, but the invitation was fun to make too. I designed it like a Car racing event ticket.
I think we had around 18 kids at the house. Unfortunately, the weather outside kept us indoors. It was crowded and a fun mess to clean up (they made their way upstairs to the toys and dress-ups!)
Kids playing with the cars and Radiator Springs Track. We also had drag racing (tracks on a ramp).
Tattoos for the kids.
Tire bean bag toss.
Car Stamps -- press the wheels in the stamp pad and drive it around.
Enjoying good food with friends.
Gavin had a hard time blowing out the candles so we all chipped-in. On his real birthday he wanted a candle in everything he ate and we sang several times. He got really good at blowing out the candles.
A great party and I am glad it's over! Today we relaxed (I got an afternoon nap), played outside (a beautiful, warm day), and opened a few more gifts. He is a happy little boy! Happy Birthday, Gavin. We love you very much!

  2. Get him some bubbles...kids in nursery have all learned to blow because they each have their own bubbles to blow.
